From 2006 to 2011 I gave post-graduate workshops on advertising under supervision of Prof. Dr. Jacek Warchala, at the University of Silesia.
It is not easy to get and keep the attention of sleepy post-graduates on a friday morning, so here on the right is the first slide of the presentation part of my 12-hour (two day) workshop on advertising. It is a 2000 years old phallus icon, excavated in Pompeii. A genius piece of outdoor advertising that did not even use words, directing potential clients of mixed nationalities from the port to the entrance of one of the local bordellos.
This example awoke even the least motivated students, and set the tone for my not-so-formal-as-other-post-graduate-courses post-graduate course.
